Kyle Busch is the winner of the Ford EcoBoost 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. This secures his second career NASCAR Cup Series Championship. After a tough season, Busch had to break his leg and miss 11 races. To win the season finale, Busch led a record 120 laps.

The race was held over 1.5 miles oval. Busch won by 4.578 seconds, beating Martin Truex Jr. (#19 Toyota). Busch's victory means that he has won five races this year and claimed 17 top-five finishes. Kurt Busch clinches playoff spot

Kurt Busch is now guaranteed a playoff slot in the 2018 NASCAR Championship. There are only one race left in the regular season. The two-time champion had not raced since July 17 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway because of a concussion-like symptom. He previously said that he wouldn't compete in the rest of the regular-season. Busch also had a medical waiver which allowed him to withdraw from the race because of a health concern.

Busch maintained his lead in the second stage. After the first stage, Elliott started second, but ran behind Busch in the second stage. Until an incident with Denny Hamlin, Kurt Busch maintained the lead in the third stage. The incident put both cars on the outside, but Busch was able to get back up to the lead lap during the second caution. After that, Kyle Busch was able to lock into the championship four after taking the lead on the final stage.
