Cup Series

Because NASCAR has expanded into new markets, the Cup Series schedule is not easy to predict. Although many tracks have already lost dates, Pocono Raceway has not. The race track hosts the Cup Series as well as a variety of events, including concerts and airshows. Pocono's ticket sales are excellent, but there are very few options for seating or camping.

Pocono Raceway can be found in Long Pond, Pennsylvania in the Pocono Mountains. The track is also known as Tricky Triangle. The track is great for family fun and offers a variety thrilling racing events. Visitors can get up close to the action during a day at the track.

Built by Rodger W. Ward, an ex-Indy 500 winner, the track opened its doors in 1959. The track has a unique layout, with turns that are similar to those at other racetracks but less severe than tri-oval ones. The track also has smaller banking than many long superspeedways.

Chase Elliott's past victories on the track

Chase Elliott has a long history in racing. His 2012 Martinsville win was his first. His 2016 victory was his second. He moved up to the Cup Series the following year and raced for JR Motorsports in the Xfinity Series. In 2016, he won five races, including the PowerShares QQQ 300 at Daytona. He won the Can-Am Duel race in the season finale. He's the first driver in both races to win since Dale Earnhardt, 1996. Davey Allison, in 1990, was the only other driver to win both races. Elliott passed Ricky Stenhouse Jr. in Martinsville in 2016.

Chase Elliott won his last race at Road America in July 2004. But that was quite a while ago. This victory pushed him to the top of the NASCAR points standings. Elliott was also able to arrive in Dover with three straight top-10 finishes.
