NASCAR is not available on ESPN

nascar news 2021

NASCAR on ESPN has been discontinued. It was a branding concept for NASCAR racing coverage on ESPN2, ESPN2, ABC. This was an exclusive package that included exclusive content and commentary. The program is being covered now by Turner Sports and NBC Sports Network. The fate of the brand name is unknown. The original branding of the brand will remain on ESPN's web site for historical purposes.

NBC Sports Network

NASCAR ON NBC is the name of NASCAR race broadcasts on NBC Sports Network. It is part NBCUniversal, the NBC broadcast and television networks. It broadcasts races from all 50 states. It offers news and a mix of popular and niche programs.

NBC Sports Network was formerly called Versus. The network aired many sports including NASCAR. The sport began being carried on NBC in 1995. The network then shifted some programming to USA Network and Peacock, but continued to air some sports. NBC holds the exclusive rights for seven NASCAR races, as of June 2015. These include: the Coke Zero Sugar 400; Bojangles Southern 500; and the Chase races at Charlotte or Kansas. NBC also owns the rights to the Triple Crown of Thoroughbred racing.

ESPN

NASCAR ON ESPN is a no-longer available package that featured NASCAR Racing coverage on ESPN2, ESPN2, ABC, and ABC. It was used to brand the broadcasts on these networks. Before it was cancelled, NASCAR on ESPN was a popular way for viewers to stay up to date with the sport.

However, many NASCAR enthusiasts have raised concerns about the quality and reliability of NASCAR on ESPN. Many viewers found the broadcasts inconsistent and were annoyed by over-commercials, poorly-prepared announcers and language that seemed to speak down to them. As a result, many NASCAR fans looked to other networks for NASCAR coverage.

Turner

Recent announcements by Turner and ESPN that they will be ending their exclusive agreement to air NASCAR racing on TV marks a significant shift in the sport's television landscape. Turner will now have a full six-race season on ESPN and ESPN2 and NBC will have half of the races on NBC. While the deal is significant, it is not without its pitfalls. The first is that the deal would require both networks to give up significant portions of their programming. This is difficult.

Turner and ESPN originally sought to exit the deal but they were not successful. The Sprint Cup rights were owned by NBC. NBC won the bid. ESPN and Turner Sports ended up having to settle for less for the rights. They reached an agreement with NBC, which offered $440m per year for 2024.

ESPN+

NASCAR is a popular sport if you're a fan. It was the former branding of NASCAR's race coverage on ESPN2, ESPN2 and ABC. The NASCAR Package on ESPN+ now offers fans a more complete package.

The coverage of the race was good, but not perfect. ESPN missed some key moments like the opening laps of Juan Pablo Montoya, several lead changes, and the finish of Kevin Harvick. The coverage also lacked the post-race interviews.
